Was hard for DD to justify more than double the cost for a Maker, when she has limited time to craft. I’m not selling anything and will just be a casual user so I don’t care about speed either. My DD would probably have preferred a maker, but she got an Explore 2 back in April for about 150 ( using a code, and a 10 discount I have with a Cricut Access). I’ll mainly be making vinyl labels, print and cut labels and maybe greetings cards, at least initially so most projects will be small and I’m thinking there’ll be a lot of waste with smart materials (and it’s obviously not an option for labels or normal card stock) so I’ll probably be using a mat most of the time even if I get the Maker 3. Cricut have told me the Rotary blade will be sold separately but can’t tell me how much it will cost (I’m in the UK if that makes a difference). So the Maker comes with a rotary blade (and housing) and 2 mats. But the more I look at it, the more I think I’m better off getting a Maker now that the price has been reduced. I’d decided on a Maker but hadn’t purchased yet so I thought the new machine announcement was great timing. I think I’m answering my own question here but I’m just looking for some reassurance that I’m not missing anything.
